K.I. Press Bio
K.I. Press is a writer and an instructor in creative writing and communications at Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
She has an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Ottawa and also studied English at the University of Alberta and Publishing at the Canadian Centre for Studies in Publishing, Simon Fraser University. She’s currently a student in the University of British Columbia Optional Residency MFA in Creative Writing.
Karen worked in the book publishing industry in Toronto (coming to specialize in image research) and in general communications both in Toronto and in Winnipeg. She was the communications manager for the Winnipeg Folk Festival for three festival years.
Karen is originally from the Peace River region in northern Alberta.
Her four books are Pale Red Footprints (Pedlar Press, 2001), Spine (Gaspereau Press, 2004), and Types of Canadian Women (Gaspereau Press, 2006), and Exquisite Monsters (Turnstone Press, 2015).
